How do you do a split??

Hi.. I%26#039;ve been trying to do a split for some time now. I%26#039;m like 2 or 3 inches from the ground. I just cant get there... What exercises or things can i do in order to finally do a split. I%26#039;m not in a rush to do one its just i need to learn before i go to camp.

u should do leg stretching any leg stretching like try to do the split position every day and eventually ull get it, just need to pull those muscles, let that vagina split
Reply:instead of doing them on the ground do them in the air like russians or grand jetes. or, for right and left splits u can put the bottom of yer toes, on the leg in back, on the ground. oh and i had the same problem and i this worked for me so good luck and keep dancin!

Reply:do butterfly stretches. you basically sit with your feet together in the lotus position. (almost like sitting cross-legged but with the soles of your meet joined together) and press your knees down till they reach the ground. if this is relatively simple than try to touch your nose to the ground.


oh by the way, if you%26#039;re over 12 you may find it really difficult to learn to do a split. also girls can%26#039;t really do them after a certain age because of our hips or something like that. i can still do a frontwards split but not a sidewards one anymore.
Reply:Well i got my splits down by practicing everyday and enduring the pain.





1. go in the split position everyday and try to push yourself down (don%26#039;t tear anything though)


2. Touch the floor with your palms without bending ur knees for 10 secs.


3. Touch your head to your knees w/o bending ur knees


4. sit and keep ur legs out straight touch ur head to them do them separtely too


5. Stretch stretch stretch and never give up

Reply:practice but make sure you warm up, warming up a lot helps the muscle release and easier to get farther down. runner stretch and use the wall for centre splits. Make sure your hips are square though you wont get as close to the floor, it will definitely help in the long run. also working on your arabesque helps too.





when you are on the floor in the splits stay there for a long time to stretch out the muscle and make sure you turn out!

Reply:lie down on a floor near a wall and put your legs straight up against the wall and spread them out as far as you can. This is the stretch that my dance school teaches and it works REALLY well.
